Today was a day packed to the brim, please enjoy this previously-scheduled Slice :)
Driving back to the ol' stomping grounds takes about three and a half to four hours. I left work, husband and dog picked me up, and we headed on our way. I took a "few" moments to scroll on my phone. What all had I missed in notifications and updates in the world?
I started with Threads. There are some really funny, caring people on Threads. There are some really passionate, innovative people on Threads. There are people on Threads. I caught the overall news for the day and moved onto my email.
Email accounts had a few messages I wanted to read, but knew I could not currently process, so I deleted the ones I did not want to keep and kept it moving.
Text messages. Over 20 of them. Only two contained information that dealt with "me" (family permission for student book choices). The other 18 were group chats about other people's children or doctor's appointments or schedules.
Facebook for a quick review of notifications. Nothing really.
I knew if I accessed Instagram or TikTok, it would be over for me, so lastly, I headed to Chrome. I have a habit over scrolling the feed on my Chrome app, opening the articles I want to read in a new tab, and never reading them. I spent a lot of time on Chrome browsing the articles I had put aside to read later. Did you know that when you have over 99 tabs open, the number turns into a smiling emoticon? That number is still an emoticon, but I deleted a ton of tabs I had no intention or reading or doing anything with the content of. I like to learn, I need to schedule time to go through every once in a while and do so.
I always learn something new from you! I’m an obsessive tab closer, so I will never see that emoticon. How fun to have a smiley face!
